Friday May 29

This week's class, outdoor stillife, was taken indoors because of weather.. again.. sooo.. we had out "set ups" by the window. All the light came through the window. I again used a pallete knife instead of brushes. My instructor, Margaret, likes to challenge me on color mixing and painting my lights and darks. The class really liked my painting.

I am seeing my progress. The pics were both taken inside I will post 2.. maybe if the sun is out over the weekend I will try to take a better pic.

  1. Hi Tim!!! This is terrific! I like that you are using the pallete knife and the results are super. I like the variety in the planes of color on each object and how they are not blended but separate colors descibing the subject.

  3. thanks..

Margaret, my instructor who I paint with on occaasion wants me to focus on my lights and darks etc. Getting a block or blocks to make the objects come into view, she is limiting my brush use... I am really enjoying it... I am also getting a better "mix" of color....

  6. Hi Tim, I've got to say your approach is really growing on me. It's very unfussy and fresh. I've found I've been overworking my paintings and I need to regroup and keep things to a minimum. Let's see a new posting soon, I know, I'm one to talk.
